I bought the new Atmosphere cd today, “When Life Gives You Lemons You Paint That Shit Gold.” It was my first and only musical purchase of the year. I’ve been apprehensive, because there is not a whole lot of luxury I can afford these days, but I heard the album in full on a long backseat trip to Northfield at 2 in the morning. I also happened to have been awake for three straight days on said trip, so I was busy being glassy eyed, listening intently and ignoring the front seat conversations. Just me and disgarded fast food wrappers and old rapper friends.
Here’s a really great community art project by Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada that was recently posted on wooster.
This project reminds me of Harrell Fletcher’s “These Fine People (1998)” and “Some People…’(1998). Check it out below.
are befuddled by new fashions. That whole uproar over sagging pants totally lost me. I just saw boys growing their hair out, riding skateboards, sagging, and starting to look fine. It just seemed like another indicator of adolescent rebellion, not an indicator of the health of the stock market, as The New York Times Bill Cunningham (known for those street style spreads that embarrass people wearing the same thing) postulates. (If thats true Bill, why did the trend start in the prosperous 90s?)
Check out the clip, and revel in the feeling of cool when you think, this guy just doesn’t get it. Plus, you can pick up on some pretty fly fashions at the same time (two belts? glittery goth/street belts? boxer briefs?)
P.S. His over pronunciation of graffiti is an especially nice touch.

Most of time I am a little apprehensive to share skate videos with non-skaters simply because what impresses most skaters doesn’t impress the general non-skateboarding public and vice versa. Anyway with the use of green screens, you are bound to impress both skaters and non-skaters alike. Check out this video (via theberrics.com) If you like it go to alexismilant.com. Enjoy.
