Still from Through the Veil
The teen-curated exhibition Hot Art Injection IV includes visual art, creative writing, music, and video works created by metro-area teenage artists.
Everyone needs their fix of Hot Art Injection IV and this years exhibition was conceived, organized, and juried by the Walker Art Center Teen Arts Council (WACTAC), a group of 14 Twin Cities teenagers, ages 14-18, who meet regularly at the Walker to promote teen access to contemporary art and artists. A salad bowl of mediums, a hot plate of artists, this year’s work is like a potluck: diverse and multidimensional. From installation to claymation, bronze statues to rap performers, this show amasses the best work of young artists in the state. Yet in all the artists’ different styles and subjects, there is a shared maturity and insight that designates these teens as the next vanguard of contemporary art. So get it while it’s still hot.
Hot Art Injection IV will be on display at The Soap Factory starting July 1st. Click here for a link to The Soap Factory and directions.
